DEworming with Safe-Guard 0.5% Dewormer PELLETS

You can put one or two drops of the blue Ivermectin liquid on the back of the birds neck and it will absorb through the skin. I don;t know if you can use the white paste the same way.

I didn't purchase the pellets, just thought they looked like they might be easier. I followed Gail Damerow's suggestion to use 3ml x gallon of the 10% liquid Safe Guard for the whole flock. My wormiest little hen is still excreting a few tapeworms after the second round of dosing, so not confident it did the trick. How many days in a row do you recommend with the direct dosing?
Hi @Kriscam if you are treating Tapeworms, then you need to use Praziquantel. Product names and dosing is in the thread linked below.
Safeguard works very well for treating most worms (except for Tapeworm) when given correctly by weight. It settles when put into water and you are relying on birds to drink enough for it to be effective.

Ivermectin is great for treating lice/mites and scaly leg mites. It may still treat roundworms, but is not an effective dewormer for Tapeworms. Dosing is also by weight, not drops. Pour on dosing is .10ml per pound of weight administered to the base of the neck coming into contact with skin. Repeat in 10 days.

Praziquantel can be dissolved into polythylene glycol; the same stuff used in shampoos and other medicines. You can buy liquid Prazi Pro which is a praziquantel concentrate already dissolved in polyethylene glycol and used to treat goldfish and koi. It is much easier to handle than the powder.
