The older Dexter, Lulu, is taming down nicely... Today was her first ever brushing. She is a long leg Dexter, estimated at 45" to the hip. Dh is 6' tall.

The younger Dexter, ClaraBelle, has not discovered the virtue of domestication (sweetfeed). She has the dwarf gene. She is younger than Lulu by 6 months, and will stay smaller. We had to put a smaller water trough in the field because ClaraBelle can barely reach over the regular height trough!

These heifers are fun! And so small!!!!

I really like Dexters and the meat is held in high regard. I just chose to go with angus for my herd, simply based on supply and cost of breeding stock. Someday, though, I may dabble in them.
