When hens are not broody, they poop whenever they have the ganas... urge.

When they are broody, they hold it in and hold it in, and hold it in. And it builds up and build up and gets bacteria working, making it rotten and finally they get of the next and let it rip.

He just caught it at the wrong time.

lol.. once i found my broody in the next box and i lifted her up and she had a rock, a few pebbles , a dirt clod, a crushed pingpong ball, and a stick under her.. LOL i could just see her little brain thinking " comeoooonnnnnn hatch! "
