I have come to the conclusion that my DH is a chicken addict enabler.
We went to get hen food for the big girls and well....
We brought home these.

There are 5 in total and one is so small she is already named Lil since she is too small for all the letters in little.
Now I need to cancel my order with meyer. OH and there are more reserved for the end of March when they come in.

We got 3 SS and 2 Delaware. Reserved are some SSH.

There is a store only 4 blocks from us called Jax. It is a farm supply and outdoor gear store.
They had these in a week ago but I could not resist the little fuzzie ones any longer.
We are in Colorado so they will be in the laundry room for quite a while.

Oh and they get the chicks from Welp Hatchery.

Cute! Maybe I need to send my DH to the feed store when they have chicks. He rolls his eyes when I say "guess what I got" but I don't think that he'd actually enable my addiction.

Is there something I can give him to up his poultry levels?

When I got chicks two years ago I took my wife and daughter with me. I was afraid they would limit how many I got but they surprised me. First we picked all of the chicks that were on our list. Then hey looked in the EE bin and begged to get one more. I am not going to say no. Then they looked at the next bin and there was a chick all by itself (a Buff Orpington). Three sets of sad eyes were looking at me (wife and daughters, not chicks

). They did not have to say a word. I said OK. They were enablers

I am definitely going to take them with me to get chicks this year. I am planning to get 18. I wonder how many will end up in the brooder????

I noticed that no one complained when I expanded the run a couple of weeks ago.
