Your nice to wait for him to help you pick it out---Id have it down before he got home. I did vinyl tiles in my chickens. It was supposed to be a temp solution until we got the $ to put wood down. Five years later, they look great still!

With having chores and milking I may not have enough time to get the underlayment down. They will have to go around my kitchen cuboards and those have rounded corners. We don't have a jigsaw to cut them so I have to go to my folks to get Dad's. Looking things over I might have to get it before I start.

Then checking things out before I head to the barn I found that the outside door is going to rub on the floor at the widest part of the swing.

One more thing to do. Why oh Why can't things be simple for once? Oh well.

I drop things in the kitchen all the time, that's why I went with carpet squares ... I got extras so if something happens to totally destroy one (or more), I can replace them ...

am just getting over an injury caused by broken glass --- hubby knocked over an empty juice glass in the rental house, didn't have his glasses on, was barefoot --- and while I tried to pick up all the shards, telling him to hold still --- I got a shard through my little finger, severing nerve and artery .... (what a mess)

would NOT have happened in our own carpeted kitchen !

luckily I now have feeling back in one side of that finger, and it has healed with minimal scarring, but there is still a lot of fluid kind of trapped under the skin ... clear fluid, not inflamed ...

Well at least you got your money's worth out of the floor. When your done installing the new floor you should be good to go for another 30 years.

well if he is like mine, he will only leave the keys behind once, then he will take them with him the next time, Load up while you can!!!!
Mine learnt that lesson very quickly.
