What time of day do chickens lay their eggs?? I say whenever they are ready to that's when!

Mine lay most of the time between 9am to 1pm. A few weeks ago they must have cycled around and I found 2 in the sand under the roosts.

Our old ladies lay at odd times. One may lay mid morning and there is one that lays very late in the day. I just thought they laid when ever it was time according to them.

Supossedly they lay one egg every 25 hours. So if one lays at 8am the next day 9am ect... mine get to 2 or 3pm then miss the next day and start over with the cycle again.

Now of course that is if your chickens read the book.

But mine seem to follow this corse somewhat. Hope that helps some.

uh very interesting. Thanks. I would try to keep watch but I am way too busy. I go and check to see if there are eggs once a day so if there is an egg after I have checked it will have to wait til tomorrow to be collected.
