Back in the OLD days, like in 1992

, people used to have to pay by the minute for their online time. They would download forum information, log off, compose messages and then go back online to post them. The more you wrote, the longer it took to upload and the more it cost. So, people used a lot of abbreviations.

Also, D didn't always stand for dear. Sometimes people behave badly and different D words, like darn or others, may apply.

YMMV - Your mileage may vary. As in, not all advice, techniques, etc. work the same for everyone.

My DD is on her third child so she has been on pregnancy.org forever and that forum uses alot of the same shortcuts so every time I see something I don't know I call her up and ask.
I play world of warcraft and we use alot but they are totally different ones and some not so nice.

but my favorite is ROFLMAO if you go on youtube and search roflmao there is a funny video.
Here they have cleaned it up to roflmbo= rolling on the floor laughing my butt off
