Diagnose this...

I dont have a picture but this is probably the closest i have found to what i discovered on one of my broilers the other day (pic below). Now if this is 90% coverage then i would say my bird had 5-10% coverage. The description refers to them as "hemorrhagic lesions".

So, the broiler of mine was lame, it appeared to have a lame leg but otherwise seemed healthy. I did not notice the bird in this condition until the day of slaughter and i dont check on all the birds when i do a pen visit. So the condition may have existed for several days. My guess is that the bird spent the good part of a few days on its stomach. After slaughter i did not notice any dislocation of the leg joints but both knee joints seemed to be much more rigid and swollen. Internal organs looked normal and the flesh was normal as well.

What causes this condition? The Cornell site describes this under the Avian Influenza description...
