I got scared after a swap seeing a couple a chickens just infested with fleas and bugs. I want to be prepared and prevent against anything

so I got this stuff to see if it works. One thing I would like to know is how long does this stuff last and how often should I use it?

I DO NOT agree with Dwag. 7 dust is one of the hardest thing on the animals, people and plants... I use DE and like it. I use it as a wormer and put it in the dust and let them dust themselves with it. You can't use it much though cause it'll dry them out.

At least spell my user name right, geez. DE is useless when wet. It is wet inside a chickens innards and DE is ineffective as a wormer for that reason. Here's a link to prove it:

Dawg, I disagree with you. And your link really only told people's opinions on a forum (who were probably not using the DE the right way). It does work as a wormer. Food grade DE is FDA approved to use internally. Check out the link I'm posting.

If you wish to waste your money on a product that doesnt work as a wormer as they claim on that site, and believe what a salesman tells you, it's your loss.
As far as that link is concerned, if you had read the link that person provided, you wouldve seen and read the official necrospy results.

last summer i mixed a tablespoon of de in my hens food at least once or twiced a week.and noticed a big drop in green flies.and i do springle de and wood ashes in the area that they dust bath in.as far as lice and mites.i'am not sure there are times after leaving the chicken coop.it feels astho.their is something crawling on my face.but if it is i can't see them.

I noticed a big reduction in mites when I used it last year, trick is to start it early though, the birds enjoy dusting in it too, I have placed it in their food but don't know how good it is as a dewormer I tend to use ivomec.
