When a duck lays an egg you might see them sit on it for a few hours, But they dont actualy sit to hatch untill there is a clutch of eggs they seam fit to sit on, then they stop laying eggs and start sitting
Even then alot of domestic ducks dont carry the instincts to incubate eggs till hatch, So collect everyday and hens will keep laying
