Diane!!!

It's a John Mellencamp song "Jack and Diane" one of the lines in the song is something about removing her "Bobbie Brooks and let me do what I please" Bobbie Brooks was a teen clothing brand when I was a teen. Sorry, I name my ducks after songs too. I currently have "Brandy, she's a fine girl, what a good wife she would be....."

:gig I knew exactly what you meant. :highfive: I noticed it first with the OPs user name.

Back to the OPs question, a ducks first eggs usually aren’t as viable to hatch, they take a little time to get the kinks worked out. Plus, they don’t immediately go broody, as someone else said. So taking the eggs now is probably best. Duck eggs are most fabulous for baking, like cakes, cookies, etc. Duck egg brownies are the most delicious you’ll ever taste!

If you want her to hatch some later, you can start leaving eggs and watch for her to build a nest around them, possibly even cover them up with shavings or whatever they are laying in. That’s usually an indication that she want to keep the eggs.
