Hiya, long time no post!

We have just adopted a beautiful little Silkie named Ellie. She's about 6 months old, and when she was just a bub she had one of her legs ripped off by a fox :( It's all healed fine and she hops along with no problem, however as we'd like to have her as a mainly indoor chicken we need to protect our carpet!

We've tried a diaper/nappy from Crazy K Farm but it just doesn't quite work for her. We had to modify the fit to be from between the legs (because that's impossible!) to under her wings, but I suppose because it's not designed to be worn that way it didn't seem comfortable for her - made her lose her balance a lot more and she had more trouble going from sitting to standing.

Has anybody successfully diapered a one-legged chicken? How??? Or any advice or other places to try ordering from? I'm in Australia but happy to order from overseas.

Thanks! :D

That’s so great of you to give her a home. Maybe you could litter box train her?
I didn't even know you could train chickens?! Though she can't get into a box with sides so I guess it would be just training her to poop in a corner or something...

Try Mypetchicken.com. They have a pile of diapers and sizes.
Thanks - I messaged them and asked about her situation, and they believe they would be ok for her, but they only ship to the US :(
