diaper question...again

so i have been experimenting and trying to make my own diaper harnesses and they fit fine, but i was wondering if its important to keep the oil gland exposed. my ducks keep trying to preen and they get upset because they cant get to theirs

should i do some alterations to keep it open? im sorry if this is a dumb question
