diarrehea

I'm really worried about my silkie hen. As well as the diarrhea, she is also very wobbly on her feet. She tried to stand but loses her balance. Any ideas? She has had some worming stuff from the vets and anti biotics. She got the anti biotics Friday and still no improvement.
Have you thought of coccidiosis? Coxoid or amprollium from the vet may help.

Hi the vets hAve prescribed her denagard. I have never heard of it. She is very wobbly on her feet and sometimes flaps her wings out to get balance. Which really worries me. She has had no their symptoms until weds. It came on all of a sudden. I just hope the medication works. I was just so worried that she might have mareks. X

Has she been wormed?????????? If she has WHAT did you use????????

You have this posted on several threads now. We are trying to help. Knowing if she was wormed and with what is VERY important in helping you..........

She had been wormed. I am afraid I can't tell you what with as I am not at home. I know that it was something that my dad had to sign for to get so I assume it wasn't just an ordinary over the counter. I will try and find out the exact name.

No I am in the UK. I am worried that if it is Coccidiosis then the anti biotic she has been given won't help. I feel torn as to what to do. Keep with the 5 day course of anti biotic and hope it helps? As for the wormer I will do my research when I get in. The vet said of you have to sign for it it will be a proper dose rather than a natural one. Why would she be unsteady on her feet though? And do the symptoms come on all of a sudden?

Weakness can cause the instability. Personally I don't think she needs an antibiotic. (BUT DONT STOP THE PRESCRIBED ANTIBIOTIC because of my opinion. It is not doing any harm.) Corid can be given the same time as the antibiotic. Ask your vet for some Amprollium (or what ever it is called there).

We want to see her get healthy!

What is corid and what does it do ? And what is armprollium? I am going to get my dad to get her stools tested with the vets? Do you think that's a good idea?

Corid is amprolium, which is used to treat coccidiosis, but I'm not sure what name it's sold under in the UK. Can you post a picture of her poop?
