Diarrhea and messy butt

We have several in our flock that have diarrhea and messy butts. They are acting fine though. Any ideas on what it is and how to treat?

Swansons layer pellets, no treats. About 3 or 4 from our flock of 11 have it. Free range during the day, locked up in coop at night.

trying to make a post about my Rhoad Island Red who is almost 5.5 now with diarrhea. What to do about this if anything? Her other Reds have passed so the others are different breeds. She is a loner. I give her a little more attention & she lags behind the others as she now KNOWS i will give her her own scratch & feed, bless her heart. I gave them chick probiotic in their water containers, wondering if that should help the diarrhea? Thank you in advance for any advice
