Hi! I just introduced myself over in the newbie board and now I have a question. Just to recap, I purchased the chicks on Friday and I was told they were 2-3 days old. At least one of the 6 chicks I have has diarrhea. I'm not sure which one, but I see it in the bedding. I also see plenty of regular droppings. Is this normal in young chicks? There's no blood in it and all the chicks seem to be acting healthy (to my new to chick eyes anyway). Any way to stop the diarrhea? I'm feeding them medicated feed and water with the electrolyte mix in it. I have let them go outside twice for a few minutes each time. Two of the chicks had pasty vents for the first 3 days, but today they were all clear. Any help is appreciated. I would hate to lose one right when we start out.

Its generally normal, like Bill2099 said. Unless your chicks are acting weird (I dont know a better way to put it, but you can usually tell when chicks are not right and when to start troubleshooting) I wouldn't worry about it. Chickens use the same exit for both pee and poop so sometimes your going to have more watery stool.

Thank you both! I don't think they are acting weird. They all seem to be healthy to me. One less thing to worry about.
