Hello all.
We've had a brutal heat wave in TX.. so many days in 100 degree weather.

Noticed one hen struggling. Have brought her inside, where she is eating and drinking, but diarrhea has a lot of green matter.

Looking for any words of wisdom, or if it's just the heart stress.

Hello and welcome to BYC!
I'm in TX too and it is very hot! Her poo is probably watery because she's drinking a lot of water because its so hot. Keep and eye on her though. You may also want to put electrolytes in their water.

Hello Mhornyak.
Welcome to BYC.

That looks within normal range when it's hot. If it stays the same for a few days then it may be a problem. I used to see that quite a lot from the chickens in Spain when temperatures got 35C+.

I am in Houston, TX. My flock is 6 years old. I've never seen a poo like that.

This bird is mostly sick and not eating.

Can you cage her and to make SURE she's eating well?

Yes, I have her inside in a dog kennel. She has been enjoying her time inside :)

I am noticing the diarrhea is slowing down in frequency. I gave her a small amount of plain Greek yogurt next to her food, and did put some electrolytes in her water.

Thank you all for the comments.
