So so. Had a long day. Flights booked, rental car booked (R3200 for 2 days

) and and.

No email no eggs.... I asked last week and she knew I wanted to set other eggs so I dont know, and I already called and emailed her, Didnt seem to friendly to communicate : (

Last outside bath for the ducklings-Scott and Freetz-for a while. Cold front came thru. Will have to figure out how to get them moved to their own house or in with the chickens.

Do you free range? I am wanting to but just not sure how to go about it.

I know its cold here too! I ran out to check those peeps twice last night! glad we decided to add the spare light just in case the heat lamp would blow! I dont free any chickens, except the sick cochin fluffy...I am scared to!! Ducks I will be clipping and keeping in with these part brahma babies, I HOPE!! lol they sure will miss that pool!!!

My poor little shrink wrapped chick passed. he had pasty butt for the last couple of days and I had been treating it, but I think he just wasn't strong enough to survive

. He just didn't look like he was growing much. Also he was from the exploding egg batch so that possibly could have had something to do with it.

Curly the curly toed chick is doing better the other foot bandage came off so I redid it and only two toes looked curly so I just taped the two toes and left the other toes on that foot free. I tried the cardboard technique and it just is so much harder than using a bandage. the bandage sticks to the toes and doesn't keep slipping while I try to put it on.

I am going to have to live vicariously through all of you for a while... I am done hatching for now. I have to rehome some cockerals and see how many chicks turn out to be hens.

wulfandwyn ~ I wish you were closer, I need a cockeral to free range with this fluffy blue coch now that she is better, rbut I cant put her back in with the big ones as they keep trying to kill the poor girl! : (

Sorry about the chicky, I hope the curleytoes comes around completely, its so hard to work with those tiny feet!
