Here we go, I have a pip and hear chirping! This is my very first hatch, so it's time to sit on my hands watch, and breathe.

Good Morning All !!!!
Thanks for welcoming me yesterday everyone....mostlyYeah, I know it looked like I was lurking this morning, but i had an issue with my coffee, that's why it took me a while to actually say something.......i guess sometimes I forget I am supposed to DRINK it, not INHALE it![]()
Well 17/18 hatched. The remaining one seems to be doing alright, has a large hole, but is just hanging out. Peeled back a little membrane but it started to bleed. So I guess it isn't ready yet. I wrapped it in a damp paper towel and put it back in the bator... I'll go back in a few and see if I can get them out
Go for a walk, plant a garden, build a house...anything to keep you busy. It takes a long time. Here we go, I have a pip and hear chirping! This is my very first hatch, so it's time to sit on my hands watch, and breathe.
Sit and wait. They take time to recover from the hatch. I would stop opening the bator and just let them do their thing. As long as the humidity is 65% and up they will be fine. Were these shipped eggs or your own? They should not need any assisting. This is what I've done.
Set 41 eggs in little giant on the 21st of March in the evening. Yesterday evening I had two pips and other eggs moving and I could here peeps. At bedtime last night I was worried that nothing was happening and opened one of the pipped eggs a little until I saw the beak and saw it move. At 3 am I got up and nothing had changed except for another pipped egg. I opened the one egg a little further. This morning no change except for two more pipped eggs. 5 total now out of 38. (I had removed 3 at day 18 nothing in them) I opened the egg even further and placed it back in and the chick finally kicked out but was just laying when I left. I didn't read 101 until after I had already started incubation. My temp was consistency at 99.5 not 101 or 102 as you suggested for a still air bator. I also tried to control humidity with the plugs the first 10 days. I stopped that after reading. I ended up with 30ish humidity for most of the incubation. I added water at day 18 and it went to 80%. I had good air sacks in all the eggs. The chick I hatched is plenty wet. Humidity is at 70%. How long do I wait before I hatch all the eggs? Do I continue to help the pipped ones. This was a pm to Sally Sunshine and she asked that I put it here so others could help as well and it could help other newbies. Here are some points she wanted me to clarify.
Its day 22.
Its still air.
Temp was at a constant 99.5. I should of been higher.
The one that I hatched doesnt look like its going to make it. Its just laying there.
I have one that is running around. None of the others have broke through.
What do I do? Sit and wait?
Okay, three of the chicks have pipped externally and their eggs are moving around a lot. Is it too early to worry because the fourth egg is still and quiet?
These are bought eggs. I found out after starting them that the lady had washed them. The humidity is 70 to 75%. It skyrocketed when I added water.Sit and wait. They take time to recover from the hatch. I would stop opening the bator and just let them do their thing. As long as the humidity is 65% and up they will be fine.
