it should be warmed up, how cold were the eggs? did you turn it up at all? you can turn it up if your home today to keep watch, I set alarms on my cell to go check so I don't forget!

Another reason I HATE STYRO bators! with the wafer I can guarantee it will be back up EXACTLY where it needs to be ASAP!

Question:
In deciding which cooler to keep for coolerbator: i have two that I can choose from, one has a whole lid that opens, one has the kind of lid that half can open, the other half can stay closed, any ideas?

the biggest one,

Just wanted to give an update: All four of my peeps hatched out last night, spent the night in the incubator to dry off, and just got moved into the Stage 1 brooder. It's a plastic tub set up inside of an x-large dog crate (this thing is huge!), and once they're bigger I'll remove the tub and they'll have access to the entire crate. The bars of the crate are screened with wire mesh to keep slippery chicks in and curious cat paws out. The 1" mesh was too big in a single layer, so I put another layer over it, staggered a bit, and the openings are now way too small for nosy cats to reach in.

sounds like you are all set

better get the bator cleaned and the new eggs set, you will be able to re-use the stage one brooder in 3 weeks

Quote: LOL, I would only expect that would be your answer, the larger of the 2

actually, they are near the same size....my thought was that maybe it would be best to have the ability to just open half at a time, to lessen heat/humidity fluctuations.
I was thinking that I could put the window in the top side that closes first and stays closed, if you only open half.....did that come out right?
