Okay I don't think I have any detached. The look pretty good. I can candle again on day 18 I think and I will look at hatching 101 again. There is just so much information it is hard to keep it straight.

LOL, I would only expect that would be your answer, the larger of the 2
lol.png

actually, they are near the same size....my thought was that maybe it would be best to have the ability to just open half at a time, to lessen heat/humidity fluctuations.
I was thinking that I could put the window in the top side that closes first and stays closed, if you only open half.....did that come out right?
the split top may make it easier to put a window in and would have the advantage of less fluctuation

thats my choice

We cancelled the house hunt for now and are at this stage trying to figure out what would be the best way forward for us. It's difficult trying to figure out what to do, big decisions pending... We were up 'till nearly 01:00am last night talking about this, so I'm half asleep and on energy drinks today! So you guys must excuse me if I'm scarce. I've got a lot going on at the moment.

OUR FIRST White silkies are here! YAY Juliet is a mom FINALLY!! YAY I don't have to shave her butt!

we have 1 death, a pretty blue silkie too the one I had to pull its head out, again this is why I HATE assisting malpositions that haven't internal pips!

we have 4 silkies out 4 brahma out and 1 brahma that pipped wrong is still resting!

CONFESSIONS.....
I am double stacked and no wafer came yesterday, so no coolerbator this weekend.

And NO oz I only put the blue/green eggs in the bator the rest I cant even give away,
they are still on the counter waiting for someone to love them : (
and then there are those maran eggs under the cochin hen,
next lockdown is Wednesday of silkie and brahma
and again ALL 17 ancona duck eggs are fertile, as well as three turkey eggs

OMG I didn't even notice that brahma with the membrane over its head and its out! LOOK IN THE FIRST PIC OMG!!

Hi, I let them sit for for 24 hours big end up before putting them in the incubator and then 6 days without turning in the incubator. I candled at day eight and made notes and 7 were questionable. I candled at day 14 and discarded the 7 questionable ones, they either had blood rings or nothing happened and they were clear. I have been using an auto turner. I believe I have 11 viable eggs right now with no detachment. I do have a couple with saddle shaped cells.Big end has been up. This is my second attempt on hatching. The first didn't turn out so good :( because I followed the instructions on the stryo bator.I really don't want to screw this up :)

I know someone is or will be with you. I would scrap that and get all the advice you can on this thread. You are in the right place for sure!! Note I can already pin point your first problem. Haha. I'm just helping someone out that has tried 5 YES 5 HATCHES AND ONLY TWO CHICKS HAVE EVER HATCHED 1 she had to put down?!
One question if you live over 1000 ft what's the deal on this?
