And I have some questions to ask since I am doubting everything the pet store told me. How often do I need to feed the fish? Can goldfish, koi, and gourami all eat the same food? Do I need to feed my algae eaters "cucumbers" every week?

Do you need to feed your chickens vegetables weekly? Feed the ducks, turkeys and chickens different food? It is all in what you are feeding them.
I have never given these fish vegetables (though I had a fish that ate bread and vegetables years ago). They get blood worms or brine shrimp depending on what I can handle that day. Stench or yucky worms (freeze dried). I feed them this because they all eat it. Sometimes they get a cube daily. Sometimes (lately) a few cubes every couple days.
So like chickens, it depends on you and your animals. Whatever works for you is right.

I'm fine with my birds- I feed them food meant for chickens and ducks and then I supplement that with mealworms, grass, clovers, and veggies, and the occasional yogurt. But I don't know about fish...

16 have hatched!! Can't see anything from my last bantie egg. Not sure what that's doing.
There are chicks everywhere in there. 7 to go. Still pips and a bit going on.

Congrats on the babies! Wonderful start to the day, hey? If it's been 24 hours since the Silkie pipped and she hasn't made progress you can investigate by chipping away a bit of the shell. Take a pair of tweezers and break off small pieces, but be careful and work slowly, so you don't nick the inner membrane. Dampen the inner membrane with a wet q-tip (I use clean water) and check the vein situation. If the membrane is clear you can continue chipping away the shell, but don't remove the membrane until you checked the chick's belly area. I did an assist recently and the membrane was clear, but I found a little blood in the veins by the chick's navel still. Once that is clear you can remove enough of the membrane to let the chick complete the hatch. I found once they got their heads clear they're more motivated to get out and once they got a leg free they're fine and will wiggle out of what's left of the egg by themselves.

That little joker jumped out of there and has been the loudest most rambunctious out of the group and the ugliest one HAHAHAHA!!!! And he's got nasty dried up stuff all over his hair.

I had two more hatch late but they are walking funny.

Jfer if it's spraddle legs, it fixable. I put the band aid brace on a newly hatched chick for two days and she was just fine after that. It was my first ever hatch too.

I'm in GA this weekend and my eggs are all alone in FL on day 20. I won't be home until tomorrow night, which will be day 21 exactly. I hope everything's okay and they are just chilling while absorbing yolk. The good thing is I won't try to assist any early pippers
