This is where I think she meant ACV.
I think Sally meant the ACV.

So, do you think I should stick with the Corid, or switch to Sulmet? Or is Corid also a Sulfa Drug?

Cord kills more cocci than sulmet. Stick with what you are using.

Sally, do you have an AC Moore or a Michael's nearby? Check their facebook page, or look online and get a 50% off one item coupon. You can get a desktop Daylight lamp w/magnifier very cheaply (considering) that way. I absolutely NEED mine to embroider any more, and I even sit under it on successive overcast days (like today ugh) to keep from getting the rainy day blues.

On another note - I have a duckling hatched and drying! :weee

oh but Tony! you need to read through this site emergency area coccidiosis! you have been lucky and the day you get it you will be kicking yourself in the butt, its more common than you think and its so easy to prevent. And I have read no bad about medicated feed except from people that go for "all natural" or whatever they say they are, I refuse to put my flock at risk for something like that, like I had an issue with a Mom that refused to get her child vaccinated, I don't watch them anymore. That's my opinion and I am sure oz will throw some facts because, well he is alot smarter than me and has a great memory to boot!

I will add, there are always pros and cons to everything it can get so confusing!
As requested

Not about medicated feed (that will be later) but about the hype of not providing vaccinations

As all children were immunized in the past, many parents today haven't seen the effects of a widespread polio epidemic or a measles outbreak, diseases that still prevail in countries where vaccines are unaffordable. But what those parents may have seen, however, are reports that detail the side effects of a vaccination, though reports of extreme reactions to vaccines are usually very rare. For example, the polio vaccine is thought to be responsible for eight deaths a year . That's frightening but in 1910, frequent epidemics became regular events throughout the developed world, primarily in cities during the summer months. At its peak in the 1940s and 1950s, polio would paralyze or kill over half a million people worldwide every year. That’s staggering. 8 versus 500000 people??

In my profession, if I fail to prevent something, I get sued. Parents who fail to prevent their kids from getting sick are "natural". If my kids or even my chickens need a medication, I will give it to them.

Why did the Allied forces win the 2nd World War? - Antibiotics and Anti-Malarials. Hiroshima was bombed as payback. The war was ending because the Japanese were "natural".

There is my 2 cents worth. LOL
