I just attempted to count the peeps in the brooder..... ugggg its NOT gonna happen until I need to pull them out, box them for a good clean out, but they are still pretty clean so probably another week! Time to start adding some shhhhtuffff in the brooder to keep them from getting bored.... I will show you what the kids and I come up with tomorrow!!

Chicken math... I've never been very good at math. Whichever way I look at them there doesn't seem to be enough

And counting chicks, oh I remember when we had 100 chicks. Counting twice a day when they went out and came back in. DH and I always ended up with different numbers! Flat panic, running around to find the missing chick... Usually they were all there, we just can't count LOL

Bad news, little lucas dropped the tiny white leghorn bantam and it died last night. : ( we have had so many chicks and never had an issue, now I worry about hatching these serama!!! poor kid was beside himself : (

Things happen with chickens, accidents and such. We lost our share of chickens through mishaps too... Some were really awful. But you know how it goes: you win some you lose some. The winners make it worth it!

UPDATE:

This week Harmony is getting another doz serama, and I am getting 2+ dozen Maran, and a doz. + some gold laced cochin BANTAMS from a friend!!! all of which (except Harmonys serama) are for friends. But now I am told she only wants a trio of each!!! OMG what will I do with all the peeps??? craigslist I guess.

A friend on BYC is sending me ancona duck eggs for the NYDhatchalong!!!! who else is signed up for the hatch?????? Alot of prizes too, but how fun to have so many people with so many eggs jumping around at once!!! and it seems as though a few are first timers!!!
