Awesome haven't heard of them before!!
I am going to keep posting these until I find answers! lolI don't have but a minute but I have a question.
You know the cancer risks from heated plastic water bottles? well our ckn waterers get warm and even hot in the summer, can the toxins stay in chicken carcass and even their eggs?
I will get on laptop when I can to read... Happy busy Friday everyone!
Quote: They are awesomely cool, more so in person. Everyone goes straight to that pen like magnets to metal and I get "what are these? do you sell these?" SOON!!!
Quote: You are right, Silver. Ducklings take around 24 hours from internal to external pip and then another 24 hours from external pip to zipping. But these are just averages, some take longer!
Today's Summary 5/10/13 (current as of 9:40 pm)![]()

waffle informed tony that the chicks posted earlier were silkie crosses
mikkles eggs came and unfortunately 9/15 had moving air cells and 1 was cracked...these are the polish...all goes well![]()
(know what ya mean about a box looking like it was drop kicked !! )
and mikkles also wished doug and mrs doug good luck for today
tony set 25 eggs and said these may be the last (are they rir? ) and he was working on a rooster home i believe it was and pics to come eventually I am sure (right tony? hint hint lol )
mikkles wished tony good luck with the eggs and sent bubba the roo to his new home last week
toastnjelly has some saddle shaped cells going into lockdown and asked for sallys advice as well ( keep scrolling it will be there )
and here it is : make sure to mark air cells and if they don't pip with everyone else you may have to assisst (see link in sally's sig) usually the chicks are malpositioned but not like wrong end pipping - so if an assisst is needed you need to internally pip and search for a beak or "feel" for the wing ..look to the article for more advice ... may even want to pre read it !! ( i am rereading it again myself just in case)
chicknfun's supervisor Nibbles the cat loves to give her the stinkeye for the camera !!
doug has an awesome big black barn cat and kills pest very well while ignoring the little chicks
tweetynpetey explained that robins incubate at similar temps but on average for only about 2 weeks
unfortunately said robin eggs got bumped and cracked on the good news side we have an internal pip on the ducky egg at day 25!!!!![]()

rbaker said being nice to nurses they prevent doctors from accidentally should be applied to vet techs as well !!
rennerae wondered how an egg came out of her chicken scrambled ...
motorcycle suggested the chick got hungry waiting and began cooking its own yolk when she interuppted hee hee
and sally wondered if there were any effects on chickens from the waterers getting hot and that is a good question![]()
