No. Stopped for right now. Next few days a chance of rain.Mornin Tony! How's the woods down there? Still rainy here!
I can tell by the back feathering. Boys don't get that until later, hens feather on top of back much faster. and after that you see the wattles and combs get bigger/redder.Sally, You're Cochins are absolutely adorable!! The legs are heavily feathered for such tiny chicks. It's funny. Have you found the rate of feathering determines sex with them? If so, I have 2 splash pullets 1 roo, and 1 blue pullet and 1roo. The lone brahma is feathering slowly, hoping it's a fluke, and it'll turn feminine soon. Evil chick from the same batch that was banished to the older chick pen crowed this morning, fluffy down and all. I knew that sucker was a roo
I'll try to post some pics in a bit.![]()
Trying to think of the chaos that I haven't shared!
hmmm besides the Family issues......
I took a few random pics, just because......
Does this mean gobbler? we have a hissy turkey who puffs out when we are near? the other two don't do anything lol
They have since moved out to the growout pens
Out of the 4 initial Cournix quail, 2 inferts, 1 early death by Harmony dropping it and this one hatched, she/he is a loner, but I have a loner serama hatching right now that will keep it company later today, she hatch Friday I think.
And almost all of Chads mixed eggs hatched yesterday, ALL day chicks were popping!
I have to say his white eggs "Comets" are the HUGEST eggs and chicks I ever hatched!
I sold the remaining Ducks, I have too many mouths to feed and not enough on the plate right now.
so when chads chicks are gone from the basement, I will have one brooder down there along with the little quail box upstairs.
YAY!!!!!! its so quiet too! and it DONT STINK! and I don't have to go clean brooders tonight, or feed or water or yayyyyaaaaaa!!!!!
I have a spitz who I think has sour crop, doing the monistat treatment, she is a brat trying to get her to eat the thing!
My brahma are gonna be sold! Why the heck are they laying so sporadically! why are they not laying!! they are well in age! I am so mad at them freeloaders! 8.5 months old! ridiculous!
