oh Dont be paranoid!! I just like when DH helps me or Harmony, that way its safer and faster! Your fine but use a cool candler! Dont stress, its so freaking cool your gonna freako!!So Sally, Sunday will be day 7 and I'm a little apprehensive about Candleing the eggs. I know mama hens leave the nest etc. and eggs cool a bit. I'm just concerned my incubator will take too long to re-heat/re-humidify. I am assuming I just crack the lid and one at a time candle them. I have 14 eggs in. Paranoia setting in.... (ps - they are in hovabator w/fan & egg turner).

Rock-did you candle?
Rained here yesterday afternoon. Guess it was fitting for the day. Sunshine and warm today. Kinda feels surreal that life just goes on. Finishing up the duck pen today and hopefully will get them moved in and settled this afternoon. Out of town for a Christmas celebration next weekend and need to ask a neighbor to pick up eggs for us. I would hate for someone to become an egg eater while I was out of town.
many people run dry hatching, a drop to 17% may have been healthy. good luckGood morning! Nope... I'm going to candle tonight. (day 6). When I went to bed last night around 11:00 my humidity was 40% and when I woke up at 7:00am it was 15%. At some point during the night my water ran out. Yikes! It is now back at 40% after added a little more than warm water. Do you think they're going to be ok? Should I wait now to candle until tomorrow. I've been trying to mess with the incubator as little as possible and thought I still had about a day before adding more water. Ugh!
