Doug, did you get the Corid 9.6 liquid solution? Dosage is 9.6cc per gallon of water for 7 days. Or 4.75cc per 2 quarts of water for 7 days. [COLOR=333333]If you have coccidiosis in some chicks it's better to treat all of them, so the healthy ones don't get sick as well. They can pick it up very easily. You don't need seriously wet conditions for coccidiosis to get going. Just having a bit of wet litter in your brooder and coop can set it off. And that chick you introduced, that you said was sick? How and where was it kept? [/COLOR]

I didn't even have slightly wet conditions. My conditions are under a roof in my barn. Dusty dry even if it rains for a week. I have been treating everything. Not just the sick ones. None of the chicks inside are sick. I brought one inside from the main coop of big chicks and lost two of them but they all seem to be doing great this morning. The chicks I'm losing are 1 month to 3 month old chicks that are all outside in the barn. I got the 9.6. Is it cc instead of ml?

From now on I will pour all my feed into a can when I get it. I told them and they said it wasn't from their place, I just bought the stuff Saturday!

From the last hatch I have a chick with splay legs and wry neck.

we tried to save ours that was like this, fixed the legs but her neck I don't think was wry, it was from frozen in shell. At 2 months old was completely sideways looking backwards, this was the cochin frozen in the shell I saved.... we put her down the poor thing, I wish I hadn't touched that egg now. But at least the other one lives a spoiled happy life with a good chicken friend!

I tested the veterycin on my shin where a stone hit me mowing (I know I should where long pants, but pants are for winter) and I am simply amazed at how its healing! It wasn't even red after a day!

Do you know why Sulmet 12.5% is off the market by chance? I would like to keep some in the chicken cabinet but its unavailable everywhere. I seen they sell a powder form for cattle at 25% could this still be used at lesser rates for poultry? I will assume so, same ingredients.

Also when feeding Corid does anyone know if we should add milk or brown sugar to the waterers, for some reason I am thinking this is the product we are to do so, so they drink it because of taste issues????

sulmet 25 is just twice as strong so half the volume.

jeffers has sulmet 12.5 by the pint but the gallon is on indefinite back order but sell dimethox 12.5 by the gallon. both sulfa drugs. same indications

I did have a bag that had hard moldy feed in the bottom but that was over a week ago and I threw it out when I got to the bottom and found it.

Thanks Sally. I have decided to give her another week. She is 7 days old today. She is taking a lot more food now, so I am hoping she will get stronger.
