What day would you begin turning SHIPPED eggs w questionable air cells? I'm on Day 5 with some great development.
I cut my cartons in half so I can still turn them in the carton just GENTLY flipping side to side until day 18. others I lay and turn as soon as they look good.

You need to candle every few hours starting day 19. sometimes they don't make a peep until they have externally pipped and you want to raise your humidity before they externally pip the shell. If temp has been spot on most internal pipping will happen day 20 with them making the break for it on day 21. :fl

Ah! Gotcha! Im nervous opening the bator that much but I guess it's ok? Or maybe I should just put a litle water in there on day 19? We're in FL and its been really rainy so idk...my hygrometer i have in there I'm not trusting one bit. :/ I need to go pick up another or something but dang it its such a pain getting one that actually WORKS! Temps have been pretty stable at 100-101, maybe a little dip to 99 here n there...

I got lucky that's all!

I'll take luck any day...haha, I just want some of these chicks to hatch! I don't hatch a lot, only when my mommas sit and this time I just wanted to try different breeds then our own...the incubator is primarily for back-up in case what happened last time happened and I had a broody fight so ended up with one hurt ones in the incubator. These little guys make me grey!

Oh I am praying they do well for you!! Weird that your own eggs would have wonky air cells! How old were the eggs, sometimes older eggs with bigger cells do this.... hmmm Unless they are already into hatching position, keep an eye on them! YAY!!

I left out that very important detail, the lavender and lemon cuckoo are shipped eggs...the lavender one in the bator has the wonky air cell but mine look ok, maybe a little on the large side but there in pretty big eggs?

however, out of 20 shipping eggs I have 15 of them in lockdown and only 1 with the bad air cell! I'll take (well, as long as some hatch, ;) oh please oh please oh please!) Hopefully I'll have good news in a few days :)

Your fine opening it until you add water to raise humidity. Once you have the humidity raised you want to avoid opening as it can cause drops in the humidity causing shrink wrapping.

Sally, only one serama hatched but it's sooo cute. It's a light off white color fluff now, what color will it grow up to be? The skin at the tips of it's wings is black all other is pink.

Sally your coop made coop pic of the week on the home page banner thing.
