its going to be tough.

I have 157 chicken eggs, 13 ducks plus 24 guineas that passed candling for 194 hopefuls. Add to that 53 marans that I Bernie cannot call as they are extra dark. Then add 47 pheasants - same story and 2 turkey that candled positive but late.

Thats just shy of 300 eggs that I need 190 to hatch. My guess is 100 - 150.

Its a tough thing hatching long haul shipped eggs.

If I cheat and include the local eggs from imported birds set at the same time I may do it.

That's very impressive considering what those eggs have been through! Congratulations!

I found a little surprise this morning.

I went out to the barn and heard peeping. Sure enough, Joey managed to hatch out 2 chicks. They're adorable and Joey is one proud mama.

Now I need to decide on what to do with them. I'll probably let Joey raise them for a while and then sell them. I'd hate to take them from her right now.
