Thanks for sharing, but I'm trying to focus on bantams. The LF's are going through too much feed.

I'd also have to see more pictures be convinced that they are truly quality birds. It's says they've won grand champion, but where? At a 4H show with a total of 3 breeding pens entered? Or a country wide show with 1000's of birds?

Thanks again for sharing Oz! I'm just getting a little more picky about my birds.

Wow. $7.60 per 50 lbs is great!

I'm currently paying $18 per 50 lbs. I kept a fairly nice trio of Black/Blue LF cochins and I still have a couple of old LF cochin hens that I keep around as pets.

After keeping track of how often I fill feed dishes, it seems that I can feed 3 to 4 bantam cochins for every 1 large fowl cochin. I love the LF's, but I also love the bantams and the bantams make more sense economically. They're cheaper to feed and easier to house.

store bought feed is equivalent to 15 bucks for 50lbs. i blend based on protein and lysene requirments at different ages and add vitamins and minerals as well as probiotics

i got my banties through luckypickens on ebay. they are an assorted mix, it will be interesting how they feather out

My original silver laced cochin bantams came from her. She did a great job shipping the eggs.

Quote: LOL on the quail, the carnivorous actions of them along with taste was enough of a "SOLD" sign for me!
DOH! they said something about cornish in the processing thread I started! didnt even think! What age do you process them very little I suspect! How hard to clean them at that age?

my chickens cost me aprox $50. per week I cant imagine even more chickens. My goal is to at least have them pay for their own feed, but we arent getting any eating eggs from the brats either! jeeeesh
