Where are you that there is so much snow? Do chickens do okay in cold. I have a hard time with heat lamps and bordering the coop so the wind don't get them cold. What temperature do they tolerate

Yesterday the high was - 5 degrees and my chickens were fine.

Monday the high is going to be -10 degrees, the low -20. Wind chills reaching -40. brrr...

It has been rough on them... Especially these yo-yoing temperatures. Our temperatures keep going back and forth between - 20 and 30 degrees.

The same, I guess. We added another heat lamp to the other end of the coop since they are too stupid to head to the warm end.

Lol I was thinking the same. My roo has about five 3 months old hens under him, two heat lamps and no one under it. I guessed that they weren't that cold.
