You hit it! thank you!!
moving on..... we need a topic to research lol
I am still wondering if the temperature outside has any effect on egg shell as its laid, that can cause it to be less porous and cause such terrible time with humidity this winter.
stumped and still irritated with not finding much on the process, I do know the ph is effected somehow, but I cant put all the info together![]()

Temps are extremely important, but so is turning, 3x is best You need to tell me what variance you have, also with a bigger fan you may dry out eggs faster so humidity may or may not come into play, as I am not sure what you mean completely
OK, so LG still air w/ turner has 98 degrees outer perimeter, near turner motor 102-103, directly under heat module same 102-103 temps, to right and left side 101 range. If I decrease the temp so center temps drop, then perimeter temps too low. My eggs to be set 4/29. Should I divvy up eggs between Brinsea and LG and see what happens? He is charging me $2.00/dozen for fert. eggs. Sorry for all the questions and confusion. Scotter -LMSit depends on the variance, 122 scares me![]()

-6.30%@Sally Sunshine I'm wondering if you can help me? Or someone?? I candled and weighed my eggs today. Most have lost between 5-6%. Which from what I'm reading is too much for only Day 7. In fact, my English Orp eggs, which had PERFECT air cells have these numbers for weight loss:
-6.3%
-6.2%
-5.0%
-5.6%
-6.2%
-4.2%
-7.1%
My Faverolles - which had the WORST air cells to start... we're talking BIG and saddle shaped, have lost less:
-5.8%
-4.4%
-5.8%
-5.5%
Then these are my Marans eggs...
-7.9%
-5.8%
-4.8%
-5.4%
-2.4%
-4.4%
Ameraucana's:
-5.4%
-6.0%
-5.4%
-5.8%
Should I add all of these numbers and then divide them to get the average weight loss? Then I'm wondering how much I should bump my humidity... I've been running in the 30's the past few days. Occasionally it has hit in the mid to upper 20's.
The good news is that out of 27 eggs, only 5 appear to be clear. At least that seems like a good ratio for shipped eggs. All of the rest had awesome veining and hyper babies clearly moving! Was so awesome to see!! Actually my Ameraucana eggs have babies that appear bigger than the rest with more distinctive veining... I wonder why that is.
