My hatch is ending!

The three eggs that remained, one has a pip, two eggs still have movement, I will have to SPOT check the cabinet again and see whats going on this is the second time I have two late eggs. I moved most brahma to the brooder now as well, but I think the majority hatched early this am as they are really wet yet. So with these last three eggs I still can say I love the cabinet but have to figure out if I really am having a cold spot! ughhhh

I really don't think it's due to a cold spot, personally. I think every batch of eggs has some stragglers, maybe they were the freshest eggs, or didn't spend as much time in the oviduct, so the blastoderm didn't develop as much.
Well in just full of AMAZING news this morning! All 4 Ancona's have embryos. Both of the normal eggs have externally pipped. We went ahead a opened Opps's shell but don't see a bill so we put it back for now. And the 24 more Ancona's I ordered came in with 2 extras but one was busted. They will go in tomorrow and then I will pick up an unknown amount of an unknown kinds of eggs at the post office.
That's fantastic! Still just waiting on eggs to incubate. Got another Turner today and the replacement coachi eggs. Haven't opened them yet, I'll keep you guys posted.
One of the new Ancona's is blue!!!!
blue? Never heard of a blue ancona! Must see!

The egg is blue anyways. Here is a picture of the 25 eggs.

The blue is in the pink carton third from the bottom on the right. There are 2 great ones as well. They are the ones with no air cell tracing. The one off by itself was filthy.

I have eggies head to CA tomorrow! wish them luck with their travels!! @lizanne

I have bubble wrapped air cell up, and I tried to close each end of the eggs this time, to see of the lack of air slows evaporatio as suggested in some storage trials. I have since double boxed them and bubble and paper on all sides of the inner box!

I got the eggs this morning. They were at the PO yesterday, but it was my day off and I didn't make it over there. They all look great. A couple have wiggly air cells, and a couple have odd shaped air cells- that don't move. None are fully detached though. Into the bator they go.

That packaging looks familiar. What sort of eggs are they?

I don't want to be too excited, but I may have a little miracle in my incubator right now. The possible only survivor of the shipping and handling fiasco.
I don't want to get my hopes up, but I haven't seen a blood ring yet. I have faith that if it's meant to be, it will happen, if not, at least I tried my best.

@Sally Sunshine I'm wondering if you can help me? Or someone?? I candled and weighed my eggs today. Most have lost between 5-6%. Which from what I'm reading is too much for only Day 7. In fact, my English Orp eggs, which had PERFECT air cells have these numbers for weight loss:

-6.3%
-6.2%
-5.0%
-5.6%
-6.2%
-4.2%
-7.1%

My Faverolles - which had the WORST air cells to start... we're talking BIG and saddle shaped, have lost less:
-5.8%
-4.4%
-5.8%
-5.5%

Then these are my Marans eggs...

-7.9%
-5.8%
-4.8%
-5.4%
-2.4%

-4.4%

Ameraucana's:

-5.4%
-6.0%
-5.4%
-5.8%

Should I add all of these numbers and then divide them to get the average weight loss? Then I'm wondering how much I should bump my humidity... I've been running in the 30's the past few days. Occasionally it has hit in the mid to upper 20's.

The good news is that out of 27 eggs, only 5 appear to be clear. At least that seems like a good ratio for shipped eggs. All of the rest had awesome veining and hyper babies clearly moving! :) Was so awesome to see!! Actually my Ameraucana eggs have babies that appear bigger than the rest with more distinctive veining... I wonder why that is.

QUOTING MYSELF for reference...

Feeling optimistic... Out of the 27 I set, I have still 22 that have babies growing!! My results from Day 10 candling and weighing are below (I was not able to weigh the marans... I started but didn't realize until I was done that my spreadsheet screwed up the marans weights (my 8yr old was entering them)). From your suggestion I upped my humidity to the 40's. Based on Day 10's results do you think I should still aim for humidity in the 40's? Tomorrow is Day 14 so I will be weighing again. On Day 10 I didn't mark air cells because I'm realizing that marking them isn't actually telling me much considering the weight is more important.
