Diary & Notes ~ Air Cell Detatched SHIPPED Chicken Eggs for incubation and hatching

I have chicks hatching a day late and with red swollen hocks, big wet chicks. The dehumidifiers been running non stop and no water in the cabinet at all during incubation. frustrated this morning

I had to change ducks angel wing wrap to go arround him/her and I left him swim after a day and took it off and it looked perfect after the reduced protein and extra greens so two days he was fine!

I have a problem. sorry I havent been on much but its crazy non stop round here right now. BUT my wonderful son managed to crush an egg that had externally pipped last night. there was blood everywhere but the little chick is still going this morning. Only thing is now the yolk sac (which is still on the outside) has burst, What to do?! I am pretty sure there is no hope but I just have to try.

you can attempt to tie it off with dental floss, and iodine the area. But honestly, I cull them as most die in the first week and I cant sell them either.

I know its only day 5 but all have great veining and I left two that I am not sure but the rest I am positive on and pulled, I have that good flashlight and I can see great into eggs, and these are bright as a white egg. The pulls are those have strikethrough the fonts. I knew I shouldnt have checked now I am depressed lol
