Hi everyone! I have been lurking for a few days now. :) I am getting a box of eggs in on Thursday. They are coming to me from Montana, so I am hoping they do well. Thing is, they are all going to be very dark eggs; Marans and Olive Eggers, so I am going to presume they all have detached air cells when they arrive. My plan, such that it is, is to let them rest at room temperature for 12-24 hours then into the incubator with the turner off for a day or two. This is my first time hatching with an incubator so any advise you have is welcome.

Btw; LOVE the hat Sally!

Are you sure that is a female? Looks like a Roo..only because the way its standing so tall

I say don't give up on it quite yet!!!
We already did...I'd rather quit it now then take the chance of it being deformed ...it didn't look anything like the rest. My gutt feeling said to take it out. But Its deff. a hard call...I don't like playing God

Just wondering does anyone know if butterfly saddles work good on the girls? I want to buy them because my Roo is messing up their pretty wing feathers but don't want to waste the money of they are going to try and get them off. Does anyone make them? I found a website but kinda nervous to give my credit card number out

I just wanted to share this with everyone...This documentary is on Netflix. It's called The Natural History of the chicken. This part is so touching

Why are you nervous? Is the site shady? Is it secured?
