Well they all look better today, I have too many chickens to go crawling in the coop plus my RA says dont you dare! Next year we will have lamps on standby... sucks because they are mostly 250 watts heat lamp bulbs, we put an 80 in with the little ones that didnt do crud! is there no in between sheez dh says just use the 250s..... yea yea

I have a 250 and it doesn't kick off that much heat..I think it depends on the coop size too and how many chickens can huddle together. Right now I only have 3 chickens and 1 brooding alone...all babies are in the house

I didn't get a call from my neighbor yet. By the way, Hope is a month and a half in two days, and her comb is starting to turn a little bit pink. Does that mean she might be a male? I hope not.

In my experience, light pink is ok but anything darker than that is BAD/rooish. Depends on breed too, but in general that's my experience. My EEs through me for a loop, pink combs on two at about six weeks and larger combs than the third. Both were girls.

I had a chick who's comb started turning pink at 2 weeks and she turned out to be a hen, so I bet hope will too

hello everyone, i'm the one hatching on groundhog day with lots of

detached aircells!

anyways, WHY is it recommended to lockdown early?
edit! nevermind! see next post!

took out 9 clears today. hope all you groundhog hatchers (or thereabouts) are having a good experience. sorry i'm not able to keep up with the thread, busy busy!
