I think she doesn't want the hassle of caring for the little ones and selling them to people who doesn't know etc. Up to 2 weeks they are fairly high maintenance too and she's going to sell them to impulse buyers who are probably not going to have a brooder and heat lamp ready. I don't mind raising them until they are stronger. They are still cute at 6 weeks. I'm already thinking of another possibility with this venture. If people buy chickens they are going to need to put them in something... and the nearest place that sells coops are 1. blooming expensive and 2. quite a distance from here...
you have great entrepreneurial spirit. This batch of chicks is already sold. My baby named the first to hatch Super Chick. Had to explain that they are going to a new home and not staying here. He was a very disappointed boy. Makes selling my chicks a little harder.
