Sweet, congrats! Gosh, what does 18 inches look like? We had 2, if that! And it's long gone and warming up slowly here.

It's been plus 2 today (Celsius) and the snow is still here!! I just want it to leave!

This is what 20"+ looks like you can see my coop way out back covered up with almost 2' of insulation.

It's very pretty, but I can imagine living in that can be a challenge! My DH told me a member on the forum he frequents told him he couldn't find his car this morning! He lives in Sweden. No we enjoyed the snow, being from South Africa it was a new experience for my son (DH and I saw snow when abroad before) and we went up the mountain to play in it, but I'm happy with only the rain now, thanks!

The chicks hatched, but one has a big red scab looking thing around her bum. I think it is an un-absorbed yolk sac that isn't done going into the body cavity. I tried putting her into a tupper ware container, but then she started shivering from lack of heat directly on her, what do I do to prevent it from getting infected? What can I put on it real quick?

you are better off not touching them. it sounds like the remnants - not a sack. it should just clear up. dont go in and mess with them at this stage.

Can you post a pic? Is it round her vent or her navel? Put some antiseptic cream on it and try and keep her separate from the others and on a clean paper towel. Oh, scrub your hands really clean before touching her!

I don't know what... Antiseptic cream? Is there a special one for chicks? or..... ???? There is a tiny red ball thing. It is so small she has to be positioned right in order for you to be able to see it. It is all red.....

This is a random picture I found, not the chick, but it looks kind of like that....

Her name is Bella.

Is it bad? There is a bit more of it than is shown. I feel so bad.
