You cant open them up on hatch day b/c you dont know exactly when they are ready.Nice if you could though. They are absorbing their yolk and the veins attached to the membrane are drying up If you open too soon they will bleed to death so you dont REALLY know the exact moment they are ready to come out even if its hatch day
Not even if they pip ...they STILL may not be ready so hard to know .
BUT the pin hole...humm interesting.Only thing i can see negative would be possibly bacteria get in but that close to hatch ...would it be able to hurt them?
Anybody wanna try? Im too chicken ....OZ?

Off the subject ...i just assisted a chick and he is peeping so loud i can barley hear tv JEEZ! take your after hatch nap little guy!!

Poor Halo.

it could be but I havent a clue how to set it back???
I didnt either but maybe it goes back in sometimes itself.
I think Peepers did but it slips sometimes I think or more wobbles still but mostly shes normal
I would leave it alone for now see how it goes Often nature has ways to resolve things.
There are ways to put it back in but if its broken then you wouldnt want to pull on it Did you say you felt it and didnt seem broken? i didnt read that part. if you did
Time may tell . Give him some days to see how he does before any decisions.

Oh Sally, I'm so sorry, I really hopes he makes it. As long as he's able to get around, he can continue on. Charlie adjusted, and I'm hoping my little duckling will too. Her leg is still dragging behind like she doesn't have any feeling in it. I've also seen one legged chickens before.

Check out these videos:

and there are tons of others! Just type "one legged chicken" into youtube. Don't lose hope!

Some of the things I find while I cruise the net instead of watching basketball on TV

The Little Bustard Tetrax tarda Is a declining bird in Europe and a very rare vagrant to the UK. The French name for this species translates as "Farting Chicken", which seems quite appropriate when you hear them calling.

Maybe I will get some T Shirts made for the “save the little bustard” movement
