This may be a silly question but when setting shipped eggs in a carton does it matter which way you have the cartons in the bator? Like if they are vertical or horizontal in comparison to the book you put under it for turning. So like when you are tilting the bator with a book should the side of the carton with the 6 cups be angled up or the side with 2? Does that make any sense?

Are you tilting the whole bator or just the carton? If the whole bator it would not matter. Also if you are just elevating a side of a carton inside the bator I don't think it would matter with 6 but with 12 it would make a difference. 12 would sag in the middle if you just put something under the 2 cup end. Not sure that answered your question.

love love the baby ducks !!! i need a drake to try incubating again....

i bought home an older baby pekin and 2 older baby khakis ... and a hen each for daffy and tiny .... and babies... although i sadly lost a few of them in traveling... even with extra heat they got a little too cold .. i felt like a really really bad chicken mom

I need to make a 30' tall basic single flue (spl?) chimney and need to know how large and deep my footer needs to go?

I just noticed that our chimney is all but free standing!

me either. but as long as your tilting longwise no matter how they sit your ok, you want to achieve that 45 degree angle, I actually move my eggs around in the carton too when I have time, don't know if it matters or not just something I do to play with them I guess LOL!

oz is the smart one here, he can figure it all out when given the opportunity!

Well, now I'm nervous! My Call ducklings are gonna hatch around the 13th. I am picking them up as day or so olds. I have an hour drive up and back. Are they that fragile????
just grab some handwarmers or one of those rice packs you nuke, your fine!
