hey, what are you two doing? Didn't Mrs. come back with you for some honey time?
I thought she was and you were doing some shows and good food and stuff?

not sure yet, mystery mail. plus brahma, silkies, one cochin and button quail which will be infert.
Silkes 5 bucks a pop, and cochins 3 to 7 bucks. Its all in the OBO and talking to them in conversation, and then getting them here and showing adult birds first, then they FALL IN LOVE with the chicks regardless if they didn't WANT that breed when they came.

I wish you were my sister! My sister chose my X husband over me and then came crawling back after 10 years and will never be the same, I am too cold now.

I won't have adult chickens to show off. My plan to to place a CL ad...post pics, and maybe charge $3 a chick...I won't sell til they are at least 2 weeks old. By then they will start to out grown my brooder...my Austrolorps are HUGE chicks, my D'Uccles are small...I have 4 of them. I have a Blue Ameraucana and a Penedesenca that both look like the Austrolorps...are they supposed to? Will they change once they start to feather out? When and how do you sex them?? I'd like to know as much about them as I can before I try to sell them so I don't sound like a complete idiot when I do...

Pekin chicken lol i think you call then cochin small chicken with feathered legs and rounded tail feathers pic is of a buff pekin.
a bantam cochin? my cochin are the next size down from my brahma, that's what black betty is lol and yes over here everyone loves a frizzle cochin, I just don't have one

hmmmmm I may need to get a black one I think, what do you think? need one in the breeding pen!

Broody question.... Is it normal that I caught "them" off the nest already? They only hatched a day ago? she was teaching them to eat the chick starter I threw on the floor! Not a great pic but I got excited! she was only up for a short time and went back to the two remaining eggs and so did the chicks!
Yay! And those chicks are SO ADORABLE
hey now!! I will have everyone know..... I SOLD every single cochin chick I hatched in the past 3 months last night and today, and 10 silkies to boot! I haven't sold Black Bettys two splash though, NOT YET anyways!!
YYAYA!!

Quote: I would try to sell them a s soon as they hatch and just postpone the meet up until that weekend, plus the week olds are still most adorable and most people just want to buy more when they see them. just sayin

Ya originated in china i think, copied from wikipedia "Pekin bantams are a True bantam, a breed of miniature chickens which has no large fowl counterpart (also known as erroneously Cochin bantams, although in the UK Cochin bantams are simply miniaturized versions of large Cochin)"

Quote: gotcha! a lot of people keep the bantams here, more so than the standards like I have, but I decided I wanted open runs with heavy birds that will stick around.
Plus I always had banty so I wanted to switch it up at the new house!

Just got home from vacation... GOSH THE CHICKS HAVE GROWN! But I think they are all roosters... The one in the far left corner with the black tuft on his head is Elvis, the one next to him is Cola, the golden one on the end of the back row (my fav) is Mighty RedWood, the other golden one is Pharaoh, and the one to the left of him is Brewster :D
I'm guessing that if they are all Roos, I should separate them soon? Gonna be hard to find 5 different people that want roosters.... Does Elvis look like a roo? He is smaller than the rest and so are his combs and wattles. I'm pretty sure he is a silkie/FCM mix? I think the other 2 black ones are FCM, and the 2 gold ones are Ameracauna... Would it be ok to move them out with my hens for a while before I find them homes? /:

Hi Sparky :frow :hugs   u back home yet? chicks miss you or what!

Yep! Apparently none of my family decided to clean the coops while I was gone, and when I checked them right after I got home they were STANKY! Guess who's got a big coop-clean-up job tomorrow! >.< (This is why I can never leave my birds with the rest of the family!)
