Ya nope they are gone...4 drinks later and I am starting to feel awful again

You really shouldn't since I'm guessing you gave them a really great home while you had them :) , a lot of chickens don't even get that much. If only they were like turtle eggs and we could set them at a certain temp to get girls or boys,

roosters have the life of a high school student

the prettiest ones get treated like royalty while the rest are subjected to confinement and humiliation.

i try and treat mine with dignity and respect before i put them in the soup pot

Hey everyone its been I guess months since I have been on here and posted

and I'm sorry! Coming outa my winter blues and vitamin D deficiency! Handed over my 4 roos from my December hatches to "the aution guy" today..Feeling so freaking upset about having to do this dispite them being super pains in the asses. Please send your good vibes/prayers my 4 silkie-mix roos ways...I hope they get sold to good homes rather then food or worse yet getting plucked alive for their feathers for fishing lewers...UGG seriously I feel like such a piece of ****! I am not a farmer, I am way to emotional...I brought home from the chicken swap 2 Campine hens and I swear they think they died and went to chicken heaven or some resort... I treat my chickens like children..so I am feeling super guilty right now. Drinking a few beers to ease my insainity. What do people do with unwanted Silkie bantam roos? I mean you can't eat them unless you want one nugget ugg hate this feeling..anyways here is a pic of the 2 new girls

I know how you feel. I had to rehome many roosters in the past and sometimes I knew they were going to the pot and it was such an awful feeling. I'll keep my fingers crossed your 2 will go to breeders. Your new girls are so pretty! The brown one looks like a pullet I had in SA.

Quote: It's up to you. I don't know what time it is by you now, but give him as long as you can and as long as he's o.k. and breathing. Won't harm him to stay in there a bit longer, whereas pulling him out to soon may cause problems. So do it when you feel it's time. Judging by the membrane I could see in the pics he's getting there now. Shouldn't be too much longer.
