Hey everyone I have a vital question...can the baby chick that is out of its shell handle heat in the incubator 100-101 degrees? There is no place from her to away from the heat and she is panting and has her wings out...gurr but there is another chick about to hatch so I am afraid to open the bator...I vented with some holes will this be ok or do I take her out?
Is she fluffy yet?

Sparky and 3D what did Santa gift ya all for being such wonderful young ladies?????

She is drying out ...my gutt is telling me to take her out...She is about 7 hours old. there is a small crack in one of the eggs..if I get her out I can then raise the heat up. She was panting at 102 degrees. Christmas was great, spent it with my family and my grandparents. My grandfather is 93 so every year is a blessing to be with him.

If you really think you should take her out , get a small hand towel wet with hot water and wring it out till its nice and damp but not sopping wet , reach in with that hand drop the towel , not on an egg and grab the baby then close the lid the warm wet towel should help shoot the humidty up again quickly. There is a small chance you will dry out the one with the pip but if your really worried about that baby then the one thats out and alive and kicking takes predence over the one thats not out yet as some eggs pip then die. Its up to you .
