Well Sally, today is day 7 in the incubator... I don't see any veins. Poo! I'll give them until day 14, but I put 9 more in this morning. Fingers crossed!

OH NO!!! what the!!! are they infert!

Hey everyone! Hope you all are having a good night! Ok so we are on day 9 in the incubator...so we candled our eggs..and there is one that does not look good. One whole side looks like a blob of blood with very few veins, no movement and the other side of the egg (long way) is all clear...the light shines right threw. We have taken it out of the incubator. Have I made the right choice? What could have happened?

Well, I don't exactly know how I did it, but I kept her in a specific area most of the time them allowed her to figure out on her own how to move around, and after a few months she caught on and now she only poops in... The bathtub, which is where I kept her (bad.move.) but I can carry her all around everywhere an let her roam around the whole bathroom whenever and she only poops in the tub. Next time I'm going to do it in a cardboard box though cause my parents are not pleased xD

That is awesome! Well as long as you clean it up ...better then going all over the house! Do you have Netflix? If so look up The natural history of the chicken...there is a women on there who has an indoor chicken...its a bit over the top but it is funny

I put 10 lav orp eggs into the hatcher this morning!! Pray for them!! I also put 15 frizzle eggs into the incubator, lol, I'm addicted!! Never ending incubation!!! I have cream legbar eggs coming and also paint geese eggs!!!

I put 10 lav orp eggs into the hatcher this morning!! Pray for them!! I also put 15 frizzle eggs into the incubator, lol, I'm addicted!! Never ending incubation!!! I have cream legbar eggs coming and also paint geese eggs!!!

Sally, its quite possible they were/are infertile... We had a real cold (frozen) weather pattern appear overnight for several days. Also, my boys aren't quite a year old yet which I know the combination works against me. I won't worry until spring as all the eggs I collected prior to the freeze hatched. Fingers crossed the 9 I put in yesterday are!

Ancona 8 1/2 days old!

Its just a big tub from wallyworld, BIGGEST is always better,so pay the extra 5 bucks for a bigun.... used a utility knife to cute two sections on the top and wire is cut and ziptied, NOTE it would look "cleaner" if I would have ziptied them on the underside of the lid so you cant see the wire edges lol....oh and its nice because I can a book over the top of the one section if I need it warmer! and then I just added a baking pan and one of those baking cooling racks....

Sally - what kind of set up is that? Looks pretty good for ducks and keeping messes down, can you please describe how you made it? I have ducks hatching next week!!!

I will have to go see how many gallons this one is, as you can see they are 8+ days old and its getting small already! I use if for my chicks but it only lasts with 40 chicks about 5 days LMAO!!

The women is crazy! It is so funny...she has her chicken watching TV and driving in the car...The part I love the most is the story at the end!
