Yep I raided my sons and my nieces legos. It worked grate with a small chick , I was gonna try small pvc pips and some sort of wheels for if she needed something when she got bigger but for little chicks it works awsome just need two long ones to connect the parts with wheels on both sides the wheels of course and then some leggos to make the wheels tall enough then add whatever you need to be structurely sound and if you have it even something to help hold something in front of the chick like chick starter. Then I cut up a wash cloth and sewed it to the legos , after I cut a hole for her little bum so she could poop and two holes for her little legs to go thru.

Very creative!!!

Fredrick's story (hoping it's actually a Fredricka): I received a half dozen brown and green large and one bantam sized egg from a friend that she had bought from some lady on CL. She had red, brown, and black chickens. The lady wasn't sure of the breeds but that really didn't matter. Four of the eggs were fertile. Two very healthy robust chicks hatched on a Saturday. 48 hours later the bantam sized egg hatched. Poor little Fredrick......unable to stand.........laid flat on his back for 2 days in the incubator. Feeling sorry for the little guy, I mixed together egg, sugar and water and fed it to him with a syringe every couple of hours. I fashioned a foam brace to keep him upright for a long as he could tolerate. After a couple of days he could stand by himself for a few minutes and then would fall over onto his back again. I noticed that his toes were curled so I cut small cardboard squares and taped his toes spread out. After 5 days of this he was able to upright himself after he'd fall over. I decide to try to integrate him with the other two but they just terrorized him so I put a wire divider in the brooder and put a little stuffed bear with him. He could still be with the other two but protected. I couldn't get him to eat by himself but noticed that he would pick at the bears eyes so I moistened some chick feed and spread it over the bear's face and walla.......he started to eat "solids". Long story short. I was able to nurse Fred back from doom and put him with the other two. That was 5 weeks ago and now he is as almost a big as the other 2. I had my friend call the eggs seller and ask her what kind of bantams she had......her response was "I don't have any bantams"......still shrugging my shoulders. Fertile young pullet egg??? Anyway, put a lot of effort into this little guy but can't have roosters in town so I'm really hoping he is a she.

UPDATE on the chick: It's walking upright, a little "drunken sailory" but still doing 100% better. Kerry got home and said if I hadn't pointed the chick out she wouldn't have known it was sick.

He did get knocked down by a sibling but once we flip him over again he's all set.

We are feeding electrolytes.

Besides this chick, Kerry also noticed a different one with a weird foot. It's a silkie so they have 5 toes. This one has 4 toes, but it seems like the 2 outside toes are fused together and he/she keeps the toes clenched. Not sure what we are going to do with that one...

I've never had so many problems! Out of 30, only 8 made it to the end, and only 6 hatched (one pipped but died in the egg)! And now two seem deformed Maybe they are just wicked inbred

did you read the story the gal just posted for inspiration for ya?

You may have to tape her toes.... go back through and look at those orthopedic sites again, its a simple fix with some tape....

3D-- OMG that's awesome!!! Sounds like you have a great neighbor!!!!!! Post when they find you some eggs so i can tell my neighbors to get mine ready! If they can't find any fertile eggs around, there's like an overload in my town in case you want me to send you some.

I had some in my last batch this year that i think that was the problem .. two made complete hatch several died looked like last part of the week and the two that made it out of about a dozen .. had major feet issues and unfortunately did not survive.... one of the chickies had an almost duck like foot and both his feet went in different directions ( even when hobbled) and the other wouldnt even stay up right on its club feet with a teacup but sadly it happens ....
