We went to the supermarket just now, but they don't have adaptors... darn! it's one of those double plug things, what do you guys call them? For when you have one wall plug, but need to run two appliances off it. We decided since we're just warming up the 'bator and now and fiddling with the settings to use the 2 wall plugs we have for the heater to get the room temperature up and the other one for the 'bator. The turner has it's own plug, but that should work fine, so it can wait 'till tomorrow. DH just showed me some pics of Hyline chicks. I'm dying to set those eggs now! LOL Those things are adorable. I hope the eggs I got were from brown hens

Nothing happening yet. Hoping that my 97 degree moments and my 102 degree moments have balanced eachother out and the real action will start tomorrow morning when it should.

Humidity was down to 60% this morning. I have been trying to keep it at 65% since the air is so dry. I will be amazed if all 16 make it.

I didn't know about the pretty coloured eggs until I discovered BYC. I was like "I want some!!" When I told people about it I could see they didn't believe me! Especially the Maran eggs. Wow, those things are so pretty! Anyway, talking about eggs. We drove out to a little farm that I spotted in our travels that sells eggs. No rooster :/ . They send me to another egg seller who had a beautiful roo, but different pens, so she didn't know which of her eggs were fertile and which weren't. She send me to yet another egg seller who I discovered was also a hatchaholic! He told us he set a whole lot of eggs yesterday and he said he's just finished building a brooder for 200 chicks! He only had Hyline eggs, which I'm quite happy with. He gave me 6 and wouldn't let me pay for them :)  DH who is more technically minded than me just assembled the incubator, but we discovered we need another plug in the room where we want to place it :th  We need 2 for the bator and another one for the heater, as the room is too cold. So, after all this we'll have to wait 'till tomorrow when we can get a double adaptor so we can plug everything in and get this hatch going :yiipchick
Good luck! Keep us posted

O.K. that's good. Come on, chicks

I've had hatches on day 18, 19, 21, 22, 23 and 25. As long as they hatch and don't need help from me I'm happy! I've forgotten how stressful this hatching story is LOL

I am getting hold of 12 Giant Cochin (Blue, Black and Splash) and 12 Cuckoo Marans hatching eggs this weekend. I need to keep my skills up

I will do a chick for egg swap with the off grid mama that does not have reliable power.

So this week, in between moving, I have to build a bator as mine are in the Philippines - but what the heck, I like a challenge - and who needs sleep anyway??

Mrs Oz is driving to the beach house as I type to drop off some supplies and take some pics of the chicks. I will post them inmy thread once she puts them in dropbox.
uggggg I still need my COCHIN all these are infertile EVERY ONE! so upsetting, chucked them now
