How much more yoke do they need to absorb? I don't know I've never delt with yoke chicks...

The fifth chick, the weak one, only has a small protrudence. Say, one third of a fingernail.

The other has twice as much but it looks like it shrank and it is not so red and raw like it was.

Ok, belly shots. The dark chick is a day and a half old now and the yellow chick is just over half a day and that is some kind of membrane residue that dried and formed almost an umbilical look.

Leave them in there a bit longer, to give their navels time to close. Sorry to hear you had such a difficult hatch

Hi all, just had a quick look at my eggs: 4 showed development

My flashlight's battery is a bit weak from kiddo playing with it all the time, so I couldn't see much detail, but I'm positive about those 4. I will candle again Friday.

We had a terrible storm blow through with tornado watches everywhere and the wind was so strong that it blew my umbrella inside out! I think there was more here than there is in a waterfall! And to make things worse, the power went out, the roof started leaking, there were accidents and sirens everywhere, and I didn't get my eggs! >.< GAHHHHH

Sparky I drove from PA to GA in the middle of all that wind rain and tornadoes .... it was an AWFUL mess .... then get here to a round of winter snowfall !!!! Trying to get caught up on the thread now but man have ya'll been chatty .. congrats to everyone who has hatched broody or otherwise and good luck to those starting hatches !!!
