I am so sorry! I guess I didnt get it accross long this takes I am sorry, I am so bad with writing sometimes, stupid me! uggggg
Take time to read that assist article and try to understand what they are doing in there. You NEVER take membrane off while there are active vessels NEVER.

its your first time helping I know, and we all learned the hard way, I just thought we had this as they are living so long already.

I am so sorry, I think I do this too often and forget to make sure that everyone reads that article for sure.

four hatched and 10 have pips that I can see, and the three bigger eggs nothing yet as they should be!

I am sure nobody ever holds you responsible Sally so dont apologize. Personally, I dont know how you help so many people. I often go through the new threads with minimal replies and try to help. Most dont bother to do any research of their own on this site and ask questions that have been answered a thousand times before.

Your https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/duckling-care-brooder-ideas, https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching and https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101 should be read by anyone looking for answers and ideally before lockdown.

When I first joined this site i pressed buttons. I found one called https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-and-raising-chicks the learning center. Its in the front page.

Now sorry if I offend anyone out there but - do some research yourselves too!!

Sally feels like she assisted in killing a chick instead of feeling great that she spent hours and hours with a member trying to save the chick.

Don't lock down yet. Run your bator dry for a day to increase the cells then lock down tomorrow night. It is possible for a chick to hatch from an egg with a too small air cell but to have the best chance you want to have big air cells. Think of it like a target. The bigger the target the easier to hit. The smaller the target the harder to hit but not impossible.

That is a pretty accurate definition!

I did keep my incubator at 40%-30% today. I don't know if the air cells are big enough though.

Incase anyone didnt know, brief cooling of the eggs out of the bator (10-20 minutes) can help drawn down an aircell as well. We do this daily with goose eggs since they are thicker shells and need it all the way through. I have done it with chicken eggs that just werent growing the air cell quick enough at the end.
So if I air out my incubator, it will make the air cells bigger? And how so? Is it safe to do that on lock-down?

yes there is too much fluid in there, I dont think you will have an early hatch 3D with air cells like that. you may see a big difference in air cells running it low until tomorrow eve. you sure temps are running 102 no less?
Yup! Sometimes I catch it at 103.
