Sally, I asked Kevin. Here's her reply:

Questions.....
while ducks are in the house I dont need to add water and food if I let them out each morning right?
When will they begin laying eggs?
how do you know when a duck is broody?

Quote:
1. I would. Ducklings need a lot of nutrients at all time when they are young.
2. Around 5-6 months. Scovies take longer.
3. It's exactly like a hen. She'll have a nest and will pick out a lot of her feathers to set in the nest.

I'm exhausted and I'm going to say g'nite all. See you guys tomorrow.

IMO yes, I think you should get that chick some antibiotics, just a little broad spectrum antibiotics for poultry. I'm sorry I can't recommend a brand, I'm not familiar with the brands you have available. I do not like that colour... Is it puss? It looks like it, but I cannot say I'm 100% sure, without examining her. Is it soft or solid?
It is kind of crusty, not soft.

the roo? but what about the nice duck house! LMAO!!

Thank you 3D

awwwww how is he this morning?
Yes. It is a very nice duck house!

He was very loud with his peeping, so I am guessing okay. XD

I'VE GOT A PIP!!! I'VE GOT A PIP!!!! Crap...it's off camera...(I'm recording for my daughter's school) It's kind of funny, it's one of the ones I marked with a question mark because I wasn't sure I had a chick in there.

I had to give her a little hand. The 'cap' slipped back into the shell, and the way she was pulling herself up was causing the cap to trap her in. I dumped her out. I hope she doesn't mind ;)

LOL I saw your hand in the video. XD

I take the term 'lockdown' with a grain of salt. It's a great idea to keep people from fiddling when they don't need to, but I'll still open the 'bator if I think that they can't do something on their own. I'm very quick though. Gotta keep the humidity up!

Bella's umbilical cord is looking much smaller today!

I don't know where to get any cream to stop any infections, and I hope it is not infected.
